Mr. Jerome Curtis (Boot/Stokes) Stokes was born into time on December 1, 1960 to the parentage of the late John and Lucille Stokes in Atlanta Georgia.
After the ultimate passing of both of his parents he was raised by his grandmother, Ms. Mattie Murrah.
He was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and attended Greenville Elemetery, EP Johnson Elemetery , and Charles Drew Elemetery and was a graduate of East Atlanta High School in 1979.
With a hard work ethnic instilled in him he began working at the age of 12 with his first job as a paperboy at Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jerome was late employed at Turner Field. He was also a skilled roofer.
Boot Stokes enjoyed sports and was a dedicated Falcons fan. Jerome also enjoyed other sport teams which included the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Stringers. His passion for sports would land him talking about sports for hours and hours.
He will be remembered for his laughter, joking and his dedication to his daughter, If you knew Boot Stokes you knew he loved and adored her. His consistent love he had for his two children. His grandchildren was his life and joy.
He was preceded n death by his parents; his son, Terrias Adams; four brothers, Ronnie Stokes, Johnnie Stokes, Alphonso Stokes and Gregory Stokes.
On Monday October 14, 2024, Mr. Jerome Curtis Stokes traded time for eternity. He passed into eternal rest at the Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia.
Because love is far greater than death, he leaves to cherish his memory; his loving daughter, Keiosha Adams of Jonesboro, GA; his grandchildren, Detorrus Adams, Makaiyah McGill, Dwayne Jackson, Jr., Daniya Jackson and Makenzie Adams all of Jonesboro, GA; two great grandchildren, Azariah Parker and Aubriella Parker both of Atlanta, GA; his loving sister,Ms. Garnita Stokes of Decatur, GA; his brother, Alonzo (Dorothy) Stokes of Atlanta, GA; his loving Aunt Rowena Murrah of Stone Mountain, GA; his uncles, McKinely Murrah of Decatur, GA and Barnell Murrah of Atlanta, GA; his best friends for over 50 years, Rufus Hillard of Mississippi , Albert Towns and Eric (Snake) Favors both of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, other family and friends.
